Loving Life in Waukee

It has been 2 years since we left our little home in Moorland and bought our condo in Waukee, Iowa. We love living close to Cindy and her family and closer to Dan and his family. Life is good.

We just returned from a 2 week trip and traveled to Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. We saw over 50 members of family and friends. Life is good.

The New Ride

Our lease was up and we decided it was time to actually buy another car.  Thinking that we may buy our leased van or perhaps another used car we headed to Shimkat Motors in Fort Dodge.  They offered us a deal that we could not refuse and we are now the proud owners of a 2014 Chrysler 200S.  I think it is beautiful and I am looking forward to many years of owning it and driving it.

Lets give this another try

It has been so long since I took time out of my day to actually write down some of the things that have happened in our lives that at my age I cannot remember all of them.  I guess today will be the day that I start again.

Ronnie and I had a wonderful winter in Scottsdale, Arizona, where we did a lot of walking, visiting, shopping, climbing and just some good old R&R.  We love the desert and cannot get enough of it.  The weather was wonderful.  I believe we could count on one hand the number of times the temperature got below 70 and only one rainy day.  Compared to the rest of the country we were so lucky.

We saw beautiful sunsets.

Walking in the desert.

Enjoying friends.

Geocaching

Shopping.

And just loving being blessed by God with the gift of winter in Arizona.

Are you kidding me?  This is ridiculous.  I would say we have 6 inches already and it is still coming down.  Someone do something, please!

Aunt Dorothy Fuoss

I lost my Aunt Dorothy this week and I know that I will miss her for years to come.  She was such a special lady and is the reason that I became interested in quilting.  Her stitches were perfect and she quilted everything by hand.  Maybe that is why I have such a fondness for hand stitching.  Each year our family travels to all of the cemeteries where we have family buried.  At the end of the trip we would always stop and see Aunt Dorothy and many times she served us homemade cookies.  I love you Aunt Dorothy and will miss you very much.
