We had an uneventful trip to West Des Moines this morning. The girls were very good and we had lots of fun. After naps we went to the mall for a fantastic pretzel and a little play time. Tonight we went to On the Border for a nice meal. Very fun.
We are looking forward to our trip to see Fran and Jim tomorrow. Meghan and Peter will be there. It is a long time since we have seen them Fran told me today that there were tornadoes around Springfield today. So glad the Kimani's are fine.
I heard from Father Larkin today. He is very excited about having bought his first bed. He said the matress he sleeps on is about 25 years old and the springs are sticking up throught the top.
Thank you God for our safety today.
We are enjoying the fruits of our labor after many working years. This is a daily, weekly or "whatever and whenever it happens" blog to share what we are doing, or have done, at any part time or date.

Oh happy day! I was able to finish cutting out the final doll quilt. I now have three cut out and will have two months each to finish them. I think they will be so cute and I bet the girls will someday cherish them.
Tonight we went out to Sharon's and picked her up and went to the new "Old Boston Bar and Grill". The food was very good and we will definately go back for more. It was wonderful spending some time with Sharon. After we ate we went back to her house and just had a good visit.
Tomorrow we will be heading to West Des Moines to take care of the girls. Craig has a doctor's appointment and the sitter needs a day off so Grandma and Grandpa will have the pleasure of the company of two very sweet girls.
I am thinking of D'Lynn tonight and her big 39th birthday party on Saturday night. Sounds like so much fun. We will be anxious to hear all about it.
Today we also called and ordered Ronnie a new computer. He has been having a little trouble lately. The new one should be here in about 3 weeks. Just in time for Dan to come home and do all of the things he needs to do to Vista to make it work like we would like to have it work.
I seem to be a little scattered tonight as I am jumping around from one thing to the other. It may just be normal for me. :)
God is so good to us.

I have definitely decided to retire from Target in June. The HR person was not there today so I will see her on Monday and get everything started. Lots of questions for her.
We had a rainy morning and then some clouds and clearing this afternoon.
I had a nice visit with Mary Jane today. We have not seen or talked to each other for awhile. She is going to spend Mother's Day in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. She will see her two youngest daughters and their families. Also Cathy and Eric will be staying with Father Russ. Sounds fun. She has been to the doctor and did some memory testing and the result showed that she has benign forgetfulness and not Alzheimer's or hardening of the arteries. She said she is in pretty good shape for the shape she is in. Love that lady.
Tonight we had porcupine meatballs for dinner. It has been years since I made them so we both really enjoyed them.
Porcupine Meatballs
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 C. rice
1/3 C. chopped onion
1/2 C. water
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. celery salt
1/3 C. green pepper
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. pepper
15 oz. can of tomato sauce
1 C. water
2 tsp. worcestershire sauce
Mix first 9 ingredients and shape into balls. Stir together remaining ingredients and pour over meatballs in an 8x8 pan. Bake covered for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes longer. Yummy.
Tomorrow will be grocery day and we will meet Sharon for dinner at what used to be Marvin Gardens. Not sure what they call it now.

I had a much better nights rest last night. :) Today we did a little house cleaning, a little laundry and I was able to finish organizing my sewing room.
We finally got the second estimate for the bathroom. This is the guy that put in our water heater. His labor was about 1/3 the price of the other guy. We hired him and he ordered the tub today. Now we just have to get an estimate on the finishing work.
A lazy night - we had subs for supper and then sat down and watched a little GH.
Tomorrow it is back to work and then we will be going to Des Moines to take care of the girls and then to Gladstone to celebrate Fran's birthday.

I am exhausted. I do not know why but I am unable to fall asleep and stay asleep. It is like as soon as I am just about to drift off I jerk and feel like I can't breath. Very wierd. I need to figure this one out. I worked today until noon and then came home and tried to nap but it was the same as last night and the night before that. YUK!!
I did manage to do a few more things in my sewing room today. I bet I will finish getting it all arranged before tomorrow night. We are going to dinner with Sharon Coppinger. I am looking forward to seeing her.

What a beautiful day. I really enjoyed my weekend. Yesterday I caught up on a little bill paying and account balancing. It was pretty quiet day. Ronnie worked outside in the nice weather and therefore things are shaping up around here.
Today we put up the shelves that I got for my quilting room and I thought I would organize a few things. Well as always I got a little carried away and I am in the middle of squaring up all of my scraps and putting them in a tub. I also sorted out my fat quarters by color and boxed them up in a clear tub so I can see what I have. About 3PM I said to Ronnie "let's sit on the deck and have a beer". We did just that and 3 hours later we are looking for some dinner. I did manage to trim some roses and pull some weeds in the mum bed.
Tomorrow it is back to work at 4:30AM. I will certainly not miss that early hour when I retire. :)
We are planning to go to Kansas City next weekend to spend a day with Fran and Jim. Saturday is Fran's birthday and it has been a very long time since I spent that special day with her. I am really looking forward to it.
Life is good.
