We have just finished off the summer with a visit of Joe and Sam. All 6 of the grandchildren came and spent some time with Grandma and Grandpa Buck this year. These two are becoming so grown up that it is a much different visit than it used to be. It is like having a couple of young adults around. We had a great week, the weather cooperated and we were able to spend some time outside. We spent some of our time riding bikes, driving grandma's car, shopping and watching the movie (Arthur), going our to lunch at Taco Tico and going to dinner at Mineral City and having ice cream at the Dairette.
The new things that we did this year were to go miniture golfing (I think they gave Grandma and Grandpa the advantage!). What fun - we played 36 holes at His and Hers golf course in Fort Dodge.
Friday morning we headed to The Iowa State Fair. We spent the day wandering around and then met Cindy and Craig and the girls in the evening for the Nada's concert. Some of the highlights of the day for me were that I met and shook hands with both Sarah Palin and Shawn Hannity from Fox News.
Did I say the boys got haircuts in Moorland? I think they were both a little nervous but left happy with Jodi's job.
We are enjoying the fruits of our labor after many working years. This is a daily, weekly or "whatever and whenever it happens" blog to share what we are doing, or have done, at any part time or date.

Catching up at Clear Lake
On August 5, it was off to Clear Lake to spend a little time with some of my Reynolds cousins and some of our classic/collector car friends. What a great time. We arrived on Friday afternoon and climbed into Rich's 1968 Camero for the Cruise around the lake. It was such a great time and the people of Clear Lake came out in huge numbers to see the cars and wave and cheer. They really know how to show hospitality there.
We spent the night at the Super 8 in Mason City where we took over the breakfast room for beers and pizza after we got back from the cruise.
Saturday we went to the car show and shopped around and ate and looked at cars. Saturday evening we headed back to the city park for a 50's and 60's dance. We stayed until the very end and danced and laughed and really had a great time.
Sunday morning we had breakfast, went to Mass and headed to Ames to meet Dan and D'Lynn and bring Joe and Sam home from their week in Moorland.

Time to catch up Part 2
August 1, Ronnie and I took off for Galena, Il. with my cousin Rich Dean and Kathy Hilby. We have never been there and have always wanted to go take a look. There is so much history there and some really fun shopping. The best part was spending time with Rich and Kathy.
Thanks Rich and Kathy for the wonderful anniversary gift. We love you guys.

Time to catch up Part 1
We had a wonderful visit from our third grandson, Will, in July. The weather was extremely hot and it kept us from doing a few of the things that we normally do like frisbee golf, etc. So sorry Will. We did however have lots of good food and several board and card games. He is a very good player and managed to win more games then Grandma and Grandpa. We also spent an afternoon at the bowling alley where Will got private lessons from the guy who runs the lanes. After bowling we had pizza and a few games of pinball. Will loves to play pinball. Movie night consisted of the three of us eating popcorn, candy and soda while we watched Sandlot. What a fun movie. We had not seen it for years and it was great. Will also did a little bike riding around Moorland.
On Friday we headed to Omaha for a weekend of painting the boys rooms and redecorating. It was a great time and everything looks so nice.
