Wow it was a beautiful sunny day. Got home from work about 11:30AM. Of course I had to have a nap because I only slept 4 hours last night. This evening we did go for dinner at the Village Inn and then to Target to pick up a few things.

I did talk to the store manager today and was told that reviews were the way they were because of the economy and the corporation as a whole is making reviews tougher. She said that they value me as an employee and that she hopes that I will decide to stay until my planned retirement day. I think I have almost convinced myself that I will just be done on June 15. Vacation to follow and then retirement day of August 1. We shall see as I am going to make my decision by Wednesday.
Looking forward to tomorrow and a couple of days off.

I'm thinking of retirement

Yesterday was not the best day that I have ever had at work. They are giving reviews and everyone is quite unhappy. No one is getting what they deserve just to keep from giving out raises. I was very upset because I felt the review was unjust. I really understand about not giving raises or making them smaller but it should not be at the expense of people's work ethic. Everyone is complaining but I think that I might just do something about this. I checked today with team member services and found that if I take my retirement(pension) the beginning of July it will only make a difference of about $12.00 dollars a month. I would actually be done working by the middle June and then would take vacation until mid July. This will not have any effect on my 401K, which I do not plan to start drawing on at this time. I would still be able to start taking social security in November. I am really serious about doing this. They said they would mail estimates to me today. I think I will make my decision by early next week. Wow I think I am kind of excited but do not want to make a decision too quickly.
God works in mysterious ways.
We had a great day. I was able to cut out another doll quilt. We are having peanut chicken over brown rice, brocolli and cottage cheese salad for dinner. I think I am starved and ready to eat it.

Another rainy day but it looks like the weekend will bring improvements.
Worked at 4:30AM and then had lunch with my Target friends at the Sports Page. It has been a long time since I had a quesadilla. Very tasty indeed. I brought the leftovers home and Ronnie had a little feast on it tonight.
We have still not gotten any estimates on the bathroom work. I guess I am a little more anxious then the plumber and contractor.
Thanks to those who left the nice notes on my quilt. I love doing it and am looking forward to tomorrow when I can finish cutting out the doll quilts. The colors for them are in whites, bright pinks and black. Each pattern is different but the material will be same.
We are both feeling well and we are grateful for that. This swine flu epedemic is kind of scary. We were just in Mexico a month ago. I do wonder if that is what Ronnie had while we were there.

God is so good to us.

It has been rainy for several days and so it was nice to see the sun shine for part of the day but it sounds like we are headed back into the clouds and precip for the next two days.
Got up around 7 AM and showered before another plumber came to give an estimate. It looks like we need two contractors. One to do the plumbing and the other to do the finishing work. Hopefully we will have an estimate soon and get things under way.
I spent some of today in the sewing room cutting out pieces for the doll quilts that I am making for the granddaughters. It is fun to have one project done and to start working on a few more. I won 50 fat quarters of material on Ebay. I am sure they will inspire me to do something more. For dinner tonight we had a pork roast and potatoes and carrots. We ate at the kitchen table and listened to all of the reports about swine flu. Glad to know that the poor little piggy who gave his life for our meal could not be the cause of any illness.
Tommorow it is back to work. I am planning to have lunch with some of my Target friends at Sports Page.

Wow did I get a work out.

It was my first day back to work and I can say I am thoroughly out of shape. I went at 4:30AM and came home at 11:30AM. This wore me out and I needed a 2 hour nap. It was fun to see everyone but I will need to get back into the groove. Missing everyone. I told Ronnie it is soooooo quiet.
My quilt is finished and now I will get busy cutting out the next project. I bought some space bags so we put all of the blankets in them and now we have room on the shelf for more:).
I picked up two window shades today before I came home. Ronnie is going to put them up and then the new window treatments in the bedroom will be complete. It is amazing what a couple of new curtains can do.

The weekend went by so quickly. I love having everyone around in spite of the chaos that sometimes occurs. As soon as everyone is gone I am wondering when we will get to see them again.
Most of the food is gone. That is good because it is nice to start fresh.
Tommorow morning I go back to work. It has been 5 months and I am so NOT ready. I will be getting up at 3AM again. Certainly not what I most look forward to in life. I plan to work just 5 months and then take vacation until retirement in November. I really look forward to seeing my Target friends but not the time or job.
