Just a short message about my hospital stay and then I want to forget that adventure. On Wednesday, July 21, we went to our monthly dinner with our Moorland friends. We had a great time and visited until about 7:30PM. We then headed to HyVee to pick up just a few items to make bars for our day in Algona to help move Mary Jane.
As we arrived at HyVee, I had a cramping feeling in my upper abdomen and decided to make a quick stop at the bathroom. When I sat down I started to sweat and thought that I may be having a heart attack. I got out of the bathroom and found a place to sit and asked someone to page Ronnie. By this time I was quite wet from the sweat and was sure that I was near death. Ronnie and one of the managers got me to the car and we headed to the hospital. When we got there I was admitted. My blood pressure and heart rate was very low and they were working to get it back into the normal range. I spent the next5 days in the hospital with a diagnosis of pancreatitis. I was able to have nothing by mouth for 4 of those days and that included water. It is the only way to get the inflammation to go down.
I had wonderful care and I am very grateful to the staff at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, Ia. I am now home and recovering quite nicely. I do have an appointment with Dr. Adams on Monday, August 9. Please remember me in your prayers.
God is so good to me.
