It was a beautiful spring day here. We worked outside most of the day. The morning started with an unusual event. I was weeding in my rose flower bed and was bent over. I felt a bird land on the back of my head and I started to scream which caused the bird to flap its wings and fly away. What an unexpected fright that was. We are now considering moving the bird feeders under the tree in the front yard. No flowers there and less stress for this old gal.
After tomorrow I will only have 2 more work days. It is starting to feel like it will really happen. We are looking forward to the big weekend and enjoying 4 of the grandchildren on Friday night. Next week Joe will stay with us.
We are ready to sit down for the evening after a great grilled chop dinner. Looks like General Hospital will be our excitement for the night.
We are enjoying the fruits of our labor after many working years. This is a daily, weekly or "whatever and whenever it happens" blog to share what we are doing, or have done, at any part time or date.

It has been a busy weekend and week. Sunday we went to Anna's dance recital (so sweet).

On Monday night we stayed so we could see Will play a little baseball. It was fun to see the enthusiasm that Dan shows to those young boys as their coach. Life is good.

Monday afternoon we spent at the zoo with the Omaha Bucks. It is really a great zoo that they have in Omaha. Must do it again before the summer ends. So much to see and too little time. We stayed on Tuesday and took the kids to swimming lessons - they are all doing a great job in the pool and seem to love the water (although it was a little chilly).
Our little Izzie has been sick and that sure adds to the stress of moving for Cindy and Craig. I know they must feel: so much to do so little time to do it. Katie started gymnastics last night. I bet she will be very good at it.
Today was a very laid back day. We were up at 3:30AM and I was off to work. (only 3 more days). They announced my retirement at the morning huddle and said they were going to do something next week before I leave. Must be having cake or something fun like that. Yes, I do wonder why I don't lose weight. Hoping to get some yard work done tomorrow. Come on sun - dry things up a bit.
