We delivered Anna safely to her Aunt Dara on Friday evening and headed back to Moorland. Saturday morning we went to Waukee to celebrate the fourth of July with the Carlson family. It has been so much fun. Saturday evening Craig and Cindy treated us to dinner in honor of Father's Day. We headed right to our favorite spot in Waukee, Mickey's Irish Pub. We had a great waitress and a fantastic meal. I chose the spinach and artichoke chicken sandwich for my meal and it was great.
Sunday morning we went to Mass at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee. A great combination of spiritual and patriotic inspiration. Thanks Father Vince. After Mass it was back to the Carlson's for breakfast and off to the JoAnns, Pier One and Target for a for a bit of shopping. When we got home the little girls took a nap and the boys went geocaching. Sunday evening we were treated to some of Craig's grilled pork chops. We made ice cream for the fourth. Can you beat that?
The fourth of July, I made home made french toast with home made blueberry butter. It was soooo good. Cindy made strawberry pops with strawberries, white chocolate and sprinkles. Can I say yummy? We went to the parade in the afternoon and then came back and grilled ribs and sweet corn for dinner. When it was time for the parade and all of the eating for the day was over we went out to the front lawn and had a bird's eye view of the Waukee fireworks. They were really good and it lasted quite awhile.
Tuesday we intended to head home after Cindy and Katie had their dental appointments but when we heard that Katie was having her readoption on Thursday we could not leave. We are so excited that we will be here for that. Having fun and looking forward to tomorrow.
