We are enjoying the fruits of our labor after many working years. This is a daily, weekly or "whatever and whenever it happens" blog to share what we are doing, or have done, at any part time or date.

Our day in the great outdoors went really well yesterday. I managed to do 5 loads of laundry and hang them all outside. I also got a couple of flower beds cleaned up. Things are getting spruced up around here. Ronnie started putting border block up in the front yard. He dug up the bushes that have been out there for years and really never did much. He intends to move some hostas to replace the bushes.
Here's what it looks like now. All the bare dirt is the result of the excavation that was done last fall. The town put a check valve in the drain from our basement that goes out the town tile in front of the house. Now we have to seed it and hopefully by mid summer we will have grass again.
This morning Ronnie went to see Dr. Wallace and came home with a good report. We had been a little concerned about some spots on his head but the doctor says they are fine for now. He needs to keep an eye on them if they start to grow or become painful. I got the results of my mammogram today and it turned out fine. Looks like the two of us are here to stay for awhile. God is good.

Monday was a visit with Doctor Wallace
Monday I went for my annual physical with Dr. Wallace. All went very well. My blood work showed great numbers (even better then last year). Of course he always wishes that I would lose a some weight as do I but he was very pleased with the activity that I get and in what good shape I seem to be in. I did get a tetanus shot because of my run in with the barb wire fence and he said I should probably get one every 5 years if I stay this active. I think he thinks I am accident prone.
As he was leaving he said you are in much better shape then you think you are. Made my day.

A visit from the Omaha Buck's
This weekend Dan and the 4 children came for a visit. D'Lynn spent the weekend with her sister getting ready for the arrival of a new niece in the Seier/Gannon/Green family.
Dan arrived on Friday night and we all visited until nearly midnight. Fun to catch up on what is happening in the families. Everyone always has something to share and it is just a great time.
Saturday morning we got up and had french toast for breakfast. It seemed to be a great hit. We then packed a picnic lunch and headed to Twin Lakes for a day of caching and just good old outdoor fun. We did find 15 caches that day all around the lake.

It was great fun and when we got home Dan took the boys for some baseball at the old Moorland diamond "Play Ball". Anna had a bike ride and I got dinner ready. After dinner there was a race to be watched and for those not interested there was TV in Grandma and Grandpa's bedroom or fun on the computers. I can't forget that we had Root Beer floats before bed. It is a favorite thing at Grandma Buck's house.
Sunday morning it was Mass in Moorland. The men's choir sang and it was very enjoyable. We then headed to Fort Dodge for breakfast and about an hour of playing pool, darts, etc. in the game room at Olde Boston. After that we came home and took advantage of some more beautiful weather by playing more ball at the park and just walking around and a little bike riding. I fixed a little lunch and off they went in the early evening. What a great time we had.
