I have definitely decided to retire from Target in June. The HR person was not there today so I will see her on Monday and get everything started. Lots of questions for her.

We had a rainy morning and then some clouds and clearing this afternoon.
I had a nice visit with Mary Jane today. We have not seen or talked to each other for awhile. She is going to spend Mother's Day in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. She will see her two youngest daughters and their families. Also Cathy and Eric will be staying with Father Russ. Sounds fun. She has been to the doctor and did some memory testing and the result showed that she has benign forgetfulness and not Alzheimer's or hardening of the arteries. She said she is in pretty good shape for the shape she is in. Love that lady.

Tonight we had porcupine meatballs for dinner. It has been years since I made them so we both really enjoyed them.

Porcupine Meatballs

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 C. rice
1/3 C. chopped onion
1/2 C. water
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. celery salt
1/3 C. green pepper
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. pepper
15 oz. can of tomato sauce
1 C. water
2 tsp. worcestershire sauce

Mix first 9 ingredients and shape into balls. Stir together remaining ingredients and pour over meatballs in an 8x8 pan. Bake covered for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes longer. Yummy.

Tomorrow will be grocery day and we will meet Sharon for dinner at what used to be Marvin Gardens. Not sure what they call it now.

  1. The previous Marvin Gardens has been totally renovated and is now called The Olde Boston's Restaurant and Pub at 809 Central Ave - same location. Click here to see their new menu.

Bill and Judy have been there and said the food was very good. Guess we'll find out tomorrow evening.

  2. Good news on Mary Jane...I am sure that is a relief for her kids and for her. The meatballs sound delish!
I will be anxious to hear what you think of the new/old restaraunt!
