It has been awhile and I probably cannot remember all that has happened in the meantime. We have been to Waukee, Omaha, Moorland, Waukee and back to Moorland in the past 10 days.
On Thursday Sept. 11 we did a lot more painting and just have one wall left in the living room and got one wall done in the kitchen. Craig and Cindy called and sweet Izzie was sick with a bad cough and fever. Thursday evening we went to Waukee and stayed with Iz on Friday so the Carlson's could go to their jobs.
After work on Friday we headed for Omaha and met the Buck's for pizza at Sertino's. They have some of the best pizza around. Saturday morning we got up and went to Will's flag football game, which they won. :) After the game and lunch we went to the Holy Family Shrine. It was beautiful. Who would think that as you drove along I-80 west that so nearby there is such a peaceful place. Of course, we could not spend a weekend with Dan and not do a little geo caching. We found 7 on Saturday and 4 on Sunday. Busy busy.
Sunday morning we went to Mass and then to Just in Thyme for breakfast. After breakfast D'Lynn had to work. We went to the St. Gerald's parish festival in the afternoon and D'Lynn met us there. It was fun and I loved all the time we had with everyone on this trip. Monday before we left we went to lunch with Dan and D'Lynn.
Tuesday Cindy called and now poor little Katie was sick. We did the laundry and headed to Waukee. We were able to stay with Katie on Wednesday and Thursday. By Thursday she was feeling a little better and so we headed to the Target, the mall and JoAnn's. She is the best little shopper and would have kept going the whole afternoon if we had not insisted that she go home and take her nap. We came back to Moorland on Thursday night.
Friday morning we were up and off to town to buy groceries. The menus are planned for this week and the groceries are bought. Saturday we once again caught up on the laundry and Ron got a lot of yard work done.
This morning we went to Mass and then breakfast at Olde Boston. After a quick stop at Target we came home and spent a lazy afternoon napping and watching the race. Go Mark Martin. Tomorrow looks like it could be a big painting day.
Run, run, run!! That's why you retired, right?!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of your help these past two weeks. It really takes a huge load off when you come.
