First visitors to our little Texas home

On February 12, we surprised Ron with a visit from our children. Our friends, Ron and Georgina Hock, picked Dan and Cindy up at the airport in Harlingen and the whirlwind began. Ron was so surprised to see the kids and we filled every moment with them showing them the Rio Grande Valley.

Changing planes at O'Hare. Here they come!The Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan is such a beautiful place. We went to Mass on Sunday morning and then toured the grounds.
Mardi Gras parade and happy hour in front of our place.


Dinner at Dirty Al's on the island. We shared a botana.
Shrimp, fish, french fries, and onion rings. Enough to feed four, plus a "go" box full.

Off to Padre Island for a little fun in the sand and the gulf plus shelling.
Stop in Port Isabel to pick up "Anchors Away" cache

    I had such a fabulous time and I can't stop thinking about it. I hope to be able to make it back again sometime. That sure is the life down there! I'm pretty sure we were in Mexico though. :)
