Rain and quilting :)

It is a rainy Saturday and so a good excuse to try out that new sewing machine and see what I can do. I had pinned the two remaining doll quilts on the way to Craig and Cindy's last weekend so this morning I was able to get the rows together on one of them. I also put the border on the first one. We are going to Dan and D'Lynn's this weekend to see Anna's dance recital and Will's baseball game. I am hoping to do a little hand sewing as we travel.

Ronnie is touching up a few places in the newly painted bathroom. He also sanded, stained, and varnished the door for the laundry chute. He still has the ceiling to paint yet. When it's finished we will move on to another room.

I was able to move most of my perennials this week. All that I have left are a few columbine and the annuals to set in. Every time I go out there are a few more weeds so they have to be taken care of first. The peonies are in full bloom and the clematis is started. I love how things look in the spring.

Ronnie used the weed eater to take the weeds down in the garden and clean off the perennial beds. He also mowed and used the weed eater all over the lawn. It looks fantastic. Bad news - the weed eater broke.

Went to Ethan Bubek's wedding last night. It was very beautiful. Was tired and did not really want to go but was so glad I did as he introduced me to his new bride as his second Mom.

Picked up lots of boxes for the Carlson's at work yesterday. My little PT is jammed full. I have to clean it out before I can go anywhere. I am going to try to do that today also.

Thinking of family and friends and wondering what joyful things are happening in their lives.

God is so good to us.

  1. If you're wondering whose wedding we went to, Ethan was a security employee at Target for a time and worked directly for Mary. A super-nice young man who had a special bond with her. The wedding was in Eagle Grove, Iowa, about 30 miles northwest of us.

  4. Sewing machine is going fine. I have finished one doll quilt and the top is done for the next one. All I have done so far is straight stitch.
