Joyce and Dick came for coffee this morning. This could become a fun thing to do on a regular basis.
Today Ronnie got the grass all mowed just in time for a few thunderstorms tonight. We are under a flash flood watch until tomorrow morning and we are under a severe thunderstorm warning right now. It is pouring here. YUK! I was surprised when Ronnie told me that he could see the bottom of the intake in our yard today. First time in years. Here is an unusual cloud pattern that Ron snapped this afternoon when it all started.

  1. I think it's great you are getting together with Silveys. Just like the old days! Maybe you will have to can some corn or peaches!!

  2. It is nice to visit them and see them more regularly but I am a bit doubtful of the corn and beans.

  3. As the storm clouds developed and started moving our way we had some brief, heavy showers but thankfully no strong winds. This morning I emptied 1 1/3 inches from our rain guage. Guess we won't have to water the potted plants for a couple of days!
I agree with Mary that having coffee with our good friends and neighbors could be one of the benefits of Mary's retirement. A "reconnection" of sorts of years ago when we spent many enjoyable hours with the Silvey's.
