The Month of June

June just flew by and sure enough I did not blog one thing. We have been so busy cleaning and traveling and I always say tomorrow but you know what they say "Tomorrow never comes."

We traveled to Omaha, Waukee and St. Paul. Each trip was fantastic and we had a great time with our families.

We shared some geocaching with Dan and Joe in Omaha. D'Lynn and I did a little shopping and of course a little buying.

Cindy and her girls came and spent a couple of days with us right after school got out. It was a real treat for us. There was also some fun time alone with Isabel and we shared a weekend with Katie and Iz at our house.

June is a big birthday month in this family and so we were happy to be able to spend some time with Craig and Will and Sam.

We traveled to St. Paul with a couple of my cousins for a weekend of shopping and looking at classic cars at a car show that had over 11,000 cars. This is our second year to attend and I think it was much more fun because we were not rushed and spent the night. The cousins were Rich and Kathy and Tom and Cynthia and their girls.

My dear friend Joyce and I went on a shop hop and visited 7 quilt shops. (Vincent, Webster City, Jewell, Iowa Falls, Goldfield, Pocahontas and Lake City, IA) It was so much fun and I am looking forward to it again very soon. I bought several things and managed to sew the top of a Christmas quilt together. Now the hand quilting begins.

Ronnie has been busy trying to keep up with the yard between rains. He helped Dick and Rod Silvey put a laminate floor in the Silvey's kitchen. It looks fantastic.

I have also been cleaning up a storm on the days that we are home. I cleaned all of my kitchen cupboards and did some serious purging. The hall closet and bathroom cupboards are also clean and shiny. I started sorting through some things in our basement and then the rain came. I would guess we had close to 14 inches of rain during the month of June. Some water seeped into our basement and then I had to scrub the walls and floors with PineSol.

We are looking forward to the big 4th of July weekend. Children and grandchildren will begin arriving on Saturday morning. The menu is planned and the groceries are bought. I will be spending my day tomorrow preparing salads. I hope the weather will hold out and the rain will stop.
