Thursday evening Ronnie and I went to the Sports Page. As we were leaving the house I pulled the back door shut and the handle came off in my hand. Ronnie was sure he could fix it when we got home. After two hours of trying we decided that Friday would be a good day to go and buy a new one.
We had a great dinner and while we were eating we received a phone call from our #2 grandson, Sam. Exciting news, he has been elected to his first public office at the ripe old age of 11. We are so proud that he was able not only to give a speech to his class but also to be elected the student council at his school. Go Sammer!!!!

After dinner we headed to Target and HyVee to stock up for the upcoming fun weekend. Friday I spent the day cooking and Ronnie spent the day making everything presentable including the back door.
Saturday Fran and Jim arrived at about 11AM. What a nice early surprise. They came part way on Friday night and stayed in a motel and came the rest of the way on Saturday morning. Nice to have them arrive a little ahead of the crowd. Rich and Kathy came next and we had lunch and headed to town for a little shopping. When we got home Betty and Gary and Linda and Ron had arrived. Things were getting noisy around here. LOVE IT. After visiting for awhile a few of us decided to go out and take a walk and Fran and Jim wanted to look for the geo caches that we have hidden in Moorland. The others seemed to love the adventure. By the time we arrived home dinner had finished cooking and we ate and talked and ate and laughed. What a great time. The yard was full of classic cars and we seemed to be attracting a lot of attention. Cars came by and stopped or went around the block for a second look.
Sunday morning we were up for Mass then off to breakfast and then to the Cruise to the Woods for more cousin fun. We had a great weekend and look forward to a repeat next year.
Late Sunday afternoon we attended the wake for Jan Luthro. She has been sick for such a long time. God rest her soul.
Thanks for the great weekend. It was a fun time.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lot of fun. I'm glad the weather shaped up a little on Sunday for the car show.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty out there today too!
