Joyce and Dick came for coffee this morning. This could become a fun thing to do on a regular basis.
Today Ronnie got the grass all mowed just in time for a few thunderstorms tonight. We are under a flash flood watch until tomorrow morning and we are under a severe thunderstorm warning right now. It is pouring here. YUK! I was surprised when Ronnie told me that he could see the bottom of the intake in our yard today. First time in years. Here is an unusual cloud pattern that Ron snapped this afternoon when it all started.

The big fourth of July weekend has come and gone. We had lots of company. The Omaha Buck's came on Thursday night and left on Sunday. The Carlson's were here for the day on Saturday. We (except for Ronnie) went to the parade on Saturday morning and watched in the rain. It was not a heavy rain and did not dampen our spirits. I always get a lump in my throat when the trailers of flags pass by and they are playing "God Bless the USA". I saw lots of people that we know and enjoyed each visit. There were a few fun games of bean bag toss in the yard, some as teams and some as individuals. The grand kids seemed to like this as much as the grandma.
We did a lot of eating out and I did very little cooking. Oh, shame on me. We had Tom Thumb's broasted chicken one night and Godfather's pizza another. As I always say "Why don't I lose weight?"
God bless the USA!!!!
This morning we went to Joyce and Dick Silvey's for morning coffee. Joyce made delicious coffee cake and we stayed for a couple of hours. Had a great visit. This afternoon we cleaned a couple of chairs. I got a new Green Machine and was able to get most of the stain out of the arm of my recliner. Think we may have had a pop accident at some time. Looks much better. We also cleaned the chair in our bedroom. Looked like maybe a little food spill on it.

We are headed out to watch a little General Hospital. The excitement coming up is Big Brother starts on Thursday night. Its summer and any new show is exciting.

We had a huge morning here. It was beautiful weather and so we decided to dress in long sleeves and long pants and head out and clean up the pile of wood from the tree we had cut down. What a mess. We borrowed a pickup from one of our neighbors and hauled everything to the big town brush pile. By the time we finished we were hot, sweaty and had just a couple of minor injuries. We took a couple of pictures of before and after. Now if someone would just cut the rest up and haul it out of here.

Beds are all clean and we were able to dry on the clothes lines today. It was beautiful outside. We went to town and had lunch at Sports Page - Delicious. Spent a little money at Target and then got groceries.

One of the things that we bought at Target was a new seat for my very old bike. Ronnie cleaned it up last week and put a new tube on the back tire. We took a short bike ride today. I still remember how to ride so I was lucky enough not to fall off. :)

The evening is quiet. I do love that once in awhile.
We have had a busy week. Friday for lunch I met 9 friends at Sports Page. YUMMY!! Oh did I mention down 5 pounds since I quit working. :)

Isabel and Katie came to Grandma and Grandpa's to spend the night on Friday. They were very good and did not even have trouble getting them to sleep, which was my biggest fear. Saturday Craig and Cindy came and spent the night and they were all gone by 2PM on Sunday. Sad news is that the people who purchased their house backed out with less then a week until the closing. Now they must start again. Stress!

Monday was cleaning and laundry day here. I managed to get the laundry all caught up and really clean in the kitchen, the bathrooms, our bedroom and most of the living room. I managed to get at some long put off things. Ronnie washed both cars this week and they look great.

Another big project is that we got the entertainment center cleaned out and moved so we can paint behind it. We are thinking that we might move it to the north wall. Now that will be a big project.

It is a beautiful day and the sheets are on the line and we are headed to town to buy groceries. More to follow.
